Nick Baines’s Blog  (October 2010)

The website I have chosen this month is Nick Baines’s blog (which can be seen on address nickbaines.wordpress.com).

Nick Baines was born in Liverpool in 1957.  He worked as a linguist before being ordained in 1987.  He has worked in several roles in the Church, and since 2003 he has been the Bishop of Croydon.  He has written several books and appears often in the national media, for example on Radio 2’s “Pause for Thought”.

So this blog gives you a chance to read the day-to-day musings of a real-life Anglican bishop.  As you might guess from his CV, the blog is always intelligent and well-written, but also wide-ranging and honest.  As well as giving an interesting insight on the life of a Bishop, the blog constantly presents an intellectually challenging approach to the Christian life.
